Amber M. Moore

Biography

Amber considers her career to be one not just of an attorney but that of a professional problem solver. She examines problems from all angles and crafts solutions that are not only creative but that also help prevent other obstacles to her clients’ successes. She practices in the areas of energy and general litigation and has experience in defending clients in oil and gas, royalty disputes, land use, property rights, professional liability, and construction litigation matters. Amber has experience at all stages of the litigation process through trial and appeal. She understands that litigation is stressful for clients and she brings a calming, reassuring approach to help clients navigate the process. Clients appreciate Amber’s caring nature along with her willingness to zealously advocate on their behalf.

After growing up in the Denver metro area, Amber fulfilled her dream of travel by living abroad and around the United States, including attending law school in West Virginia. She now lives in her home state of Colorado with her husband and children.

Representative Experience

  • Defended oil and gas exploration and production company before the West Virginia Mass Litigation Panel in claims involving private nuisance and negligence relating to natural gas activities
  • Represented oil and gas operator in dispute with two other energy companies over ownership of oil and gas interests in North Dakota; verdict affirmed on appeal before North Dakota Supreme Court in Zavanna, LLC v. GADECO, LLC et al. 994 N.W.2d 133 (ND 2023)
  • As second chair, won jury trial for large international metal manufacturing client in dispute over indemnification responsibilities worth over $1 million from late 1980s acquisition agreement
  • Represented real estate agent in motion to dismiss in a professional liability matter brought by the purchaser of undeveloped residential property
  • Second-chaired an evidentiary hearing based on removal cause of action against county commissioners
  • Drafted missing heirs petitions and partition complaints to assist clients with obtaining mineral leasing rights
  • Represented a homeowners association in enforcing restrictive covenants, including motions for summary judgment and an evidentiary hearing on attorney’s fees and costs
  • Represented clients in construction litigation matters by drafting motions for summary judgment for a pipeline operator and for a subcontractor in residential housing
  • Defended client in the medical malpractice action, including a motion to dismiss hearing
  • Assisted with research and drafting for appeals before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
  • As second chair counsel, won jury trial for large international metal manufacturing client in dispute over indemnification responsibilities worth over $1 million from late 1980s acquisition agreement
