The Charleston office was established in 1928 and was the second location to open after the firm’s establishment in 1913. With Charleston as West Virginia’s capital city, the office was originally opened to assist clients with matters before state government and regulatory offices. The office now provides a multitude of legal services, including environmental, litigation, labor, real estate, energy, utilities, government affairs, public finance, and more.
The Charleston office supports many civic and charitable organizations in the area, such as the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Toys for Tots, the Library Foundation of Kanawha County, Education Elevators, Children’s Therapy Clinic, the Bob Burdette Center, and many other worthy causes. The office also gives back to the community by providing pro bono work and has provided those services to organizations such as the Appalachia Service Project, Union Mission, West Virginia Legal Aid, and the High Rocks Educational Corporation. The office encourages civic engagement, and lawyers and professional staff have served on non-profit boards in the Kanawha Valley.
