In a previous update, we told you about The West Virginia Legislature's consideration of a bill that would further regulate the natural gas industry. S.B. 643 would regulate public highway use by the industry as well as implement new permitting, training and accident reporting standards.
The bill failed to pass the State Senate on March 3, 2010 - the deadline for all bills to have passed from their house of origin. While existing related bills which have passed their initial house of origin may be amended to include provisions contained in Senate Bill 643, the bill itself can no longer be considered as a stand alone bill.
