Robert D. Fluharty

Biography

Bob Fluharty focuses his practice in the area of energy law and has a wide range of experience in commercial financing and transactional issues related to energy and natural resource development. He has extensive experience representing clients in the coal, oil and gas industries.

Representative Experience

  • Led in-country due diligence team evaluating possible acquisition of privatized United Kingdom coal mining companies, including evaluation of all commercial and supply contracts with the United Kingdom and foreign customers and power generation companies, and national and local council licenses including environmental requirements and constraints. Facilities included multiple open caste mines on Scottish border, anthracite mines in Wales, and two oceangoing port facilities.
  • Represented lenders in transactions secured by operating assets
  • Represented production companies and land owners in negotiating and drafting coal, oil, and gas leases, stock and asset acquisitions and divestitures, and other commercial transactions
