Biography

Eli Kiefaber focuses his practice in mineral title and energy law and is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has extensive experience in handling complex mineral and oil and gas title issues and has prepared numerous title opinions. Eli also leverages his experience with energy issues to aid clients involved in energy litigation matters, including title disputes, interpretation of royalties, and payments of revenues.

Eli is also a frequent speaker, discussing oil and gas, energy and renewable development topics across the country at industry organizations such as the American Association of Professional Landman (AAPL), the National Association of Division Order Analysts (NADOA), and many local industry groups.

Representative Experience

Advised renewable gas company on the completion of multiple renewable natural gas facilities in Texas
Managed acquisitions and divestures of assets in the Permian Basin on behalf of oil and gas companies
Drafted and reviewed oil and gas lease agreements and surface use agreements
Managed preparation of title opinions covering over a million acres in Oklahoma
Assisted oil and gas companies in resolving royalty payment questions through interpleader actions
Advised clients regarding issues relating to mineral and royalty ownership, surface use restrictions, and other drilling issues
Defended oil and gas company in litigation involving claims of lease termination due to a lack of production in paying quantities
Advised oil and gas company regarding divestiture of its Ohio assets
Assisted international oil and gas companies with first-time investments in oil and gas assets in Texas
