Biography

Roger Christenson focuses his practice in the area of energy law. Mr. Christenson is experienced in matters involving mineral transactions and acquisitions, including the coordination and performance of due diligence and title defect curative work. He is the former Manager of Land Operations for Northeast Natural Energy as well as the former Supervisor of Land and Title Litigation for Antero Resources Corporation.

Representative Experience

Managed land department active drilling program to sustain a continuous drilling program
Conducted negotiations, drafted documents, performed title curative work, and closed multi-million dollar energy transactions with small operators, individual land owners, and state agencies
Managed in-house and broker personnel team responsible for land and title litigation organization, preparation, and tracking
Developed processes and procedures for evaluation and implementation of land department curative standards, missing heirs requirements, partition action needs, and other land and legal related activities
Performed, managed, and coordinated due diligence projects for multiple oil and gas development companies including projects with estimated values of over two billion dollars
Performed negotiations, drafted documents, performed title curative work, and closed multi-million dollar energy transactions
Handled matters involving mineral transactions and acquisitions, including the coordination and performance of due diligence and title defect curative work to assist clients in development efforts
Performed and coordinated due diligence for a Fortune 500 company on a coal divestiture involving over 300,000 acres
Assisted in drafting proposed legislation related to natural gas industry regulations in West Virginia
Experienced in abstracting and drafting coal, oil, gas, and other energy-related title examinations for energy companies acquiring desired real estate rights
