Steptoe & Johnson’s Dallas Office Continues Growth with Addition of Tom Burton

DALLAS- Tom Burton recently joined Steptoe & Johnson PLLC’s Business Department as Of Counsel at the firm’s Dallas office. Burton has more than 25 years of experience in corporate, real estate, and transactional work.

“We’re excited to have Tom join our firm,” says Christopher L. Slaughter, CEO of Steptoe & Johnson. “He is actually rejoining a group of his former partners and colleagues who include our COO and several lawyers in our DFW offices. He is a fantastic guy and will be a great cultural fit. Tom’s deal experience, acquired over decades in private practice and in-house, will bolster our Corporate M&A and Real Estate practices and benefit our clients throughout Texas and beyond.”

Tom has extensive experience in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, financing and lending, contracts, securities, antitrust, licensing, and counseling employers on human resources issues. Burton previously served as Chief Legal Officer for one of the country’s largest collision repair companies, and served as outside general counsel for several businesses in various industries.

Burton earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University. He is licensed to practice in Texas.
