On April 29, the White House released “Not Alone,” the first report of the White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault.  As a result of this report, many Federal agencies promise more active and coordinated enforcement of Title IX in the coming months.

The “Not Alone” report details steps that higher education institutions should take to (a) assess the scope of their sexual assault problem, (b) prevent sexual assaults, and (c) respond to sexual assaults when they occur.  It also identifies a variety of actions that federal agencies will take to more vigorously enforce Title IX.

Steptoe & Johnson has prepared a summary of the report.  To read a summary of the “Not Alone” report, click here.

In addition, the firm’s attorneys have identified action steps that presidents and trustees can take to prepare for the increased enforcement actions which are promised in the report.  To receive these steps, please contact Jim Newberry directly at jim.newberry@steptoe-johnson.com, or by phone at 859.219.8226.
