Mauritia works with clients to ensure that they have preventative practices in place to minimize workplace disputes, including advising employers on issues relating to employee handbooks and policies, employee relations, internal complaints and investigations, Title VII, FMLA and ADA issues. She believes in the power of educating clients and routinely provides training for human resources professionals, executives, and managers on best practices.
Mauritia works in a variety of industries, including public libraries, non-profit organizations, bank and wealth management companies and a variety of small businesses. Becoming a student herself, Mauritia learns the unique industry specific situations that her clients often face.
Mauritia has assisted clients with employment contracts, discipline procedures, severance agreements, golden parachutes, and workplace accommodations. Mauritia has significant jury trial experience and appears in state and federal courts, as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as well as various state and local FEP agencies. She handles claims arising under Title VII, ADA, FMLA and the ADEA.
