Firm adds energy transactional know-how in Pennsylvania
CANONSBURG, Pa. – Britt Freund has joined the Energy & Natural Resources Department of Steptoe & Johnson. Freund’s practice will focus on financial transactions for energy companies, private equity firms, and financial institutions working from the firm’s Southpointe office located near Pittsburgh. He joins a team of more than 40 energy transactional attorneys assisting clients in some of the nation’s largest shale plays.
“Britt is a great addition to our team,” said Steptoe & Johnson CEO Susan S. Brewer. “He has represented oil, gas, and coal producers in states including Pennsylvania and West Virginia. His knowledge of mineral law will be vital to the firm and our clients.”
Freund represents energy producers and financial institutions in all aspects of real property acquisition, development, mineral production, and sales and finance transactions. His experience spans the Appalachian basin where he also routinely assists clients in dispute resolution and with litigation in state and federal courts, conducts due diligence for real property acquisitions and corporate mergers, and helps to structure and effectuate complex mineral property transactions.
