Joe Stevens Joins Government Relations and Lobbying Team

Stevens adds Ohio legislative experience to multi-state team 

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Steptoe & Johnson PLLC is pleased to announce the addition of Joe Stevens to the firm’s Government Relations and Lobbying Team in its Columbus office.  Stevens will serve as a government relations consultant, working closely with clients to achieve their legislative goals.

“Joe has nearly 30 years of experience working with clients in the statehouse and in the boardroom,” said Steptoe & Johnson Business Department Chair Brian D. Gallagher.  “Joe is a leader who knows what it takes to advance legislation on behalf of companies and organizations, and we are thrilled to have him as a member of our team.”

Stevens joins the firm from Stevens Consulting Group where he was owner and operator.  There he leveraged relationships with legislators and government officials, as well as his knowledge of the legislative process, to represent the interests of clients, particularly those in the health care industry. Additionally, Stevens partnered with The Montrose Group, LLC, as director of government relations. He used his decades of lobbying experience to represent public and private sector companies before local, state, and federal governments.

Stevens has also served as in-house government affairs director for both United Health Group and Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield where he led the development of legislative strategy and stances on political and regulatory matters for those companies.

Stevens earned his bachelor’s degree from Centre College.
