Representative Experience

  • Defended business entities, insurance companies, private companies, government entities, and nonprofits in claims involving personal injury litigation, dram shop claims, and civil rights litigation
  • Tried dozens of cases representing local government, city, county and state agencies, and agents alleging constitutional torts and general liability
  • Represented banks, corporations, national credit and debt services, and individual defendants in a variety of suits relating to commercial claims, unfair practices, and consumer protection issues and suits brought under the West Virginia Consumer Credit Protection Act
  • Litigated claims involving corporate fraud and embezzling employees
  • Gained preliminary and permanent injunctions on behalf of major energy corporation to prevent interference with rights-of-way access
  • Represented a former heavyweight boxing champion in transactions involving the production and marketing of retail cooking products
  • Defended industry, private citizens, and governmental entities in cases involving coal truck, eighteen-wheeler, and automobile collisions related to issues of vehicle design, mechanical malfunction, driver error, and roadway conditions causing death or serious injury
  • Litigated many document intensive cases involving complex document production issues, and cases with e-discovery issues
  • Represented members of limited liability company in fraud and breach of contract claims over representations made prior to investment
  • Defended hotels and other businesses in premises liability actions alleging failure to maintain premises and insufficient security measures
