Vanessa Towarnicky is the attorney you want with you when you are in the heat of a complex litigation matter.  Vanessa is often called upon to be part of legal teams defending firm clients in labor and employment matters and is able to bring a sense of order, using her skills in research, organization, and writing to support the defense.  Vanessa is respected by her colleagues for her ability to distill large amounts of facts, arguments, and data and create concise motions.

She represents clients in various employment cases, including disability discrimination, workers’ compensation retaliation, sexual harassment, deliberate intent, and other wrongful discharge and employment-related torts.  She is admitted to practice in West Virginia and Ohio, as well as the Third and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Vanessa provides guidance to clients with regard to compliance issues arising under state and federal employment laws, such as the West Virginia Human Rights Act, the Wage Payment and Collection Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act, and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.

Vanessa is a talented writer and speaker and frequently authors and presents seminars to private companies, various organizations, and public institutions on a variety of employment-related subjects.
